On 10 May 2023, the second milestone meeting of the project “SDIKA – Secure Digital Identities Karlsruhe” took place. Among other things, the development of the SDI-X-Payment Service, for which DPS is responsible, was presented.
At the meeting in Karlsruhe, the companies involved in SDIKA presented the current status of the research project to the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK). For example, the technical solutions developed were illustrated in a live demonstration of an excursion by two people to Karlsruhe Zoo. From admission to car sharing to discount offers, all tickets and proofs were used with a secure and trustworthy digital identity. Other use cases on the topics of e-government, health and building applications were also considered.
DPS presented the development status of the SDI-X payment service at the meeting. This is an open-technology IBAN credential platform for all common wallets, via which user and contracting party data can be exchanged securely and without third parties being able to see it.
“On the one hand, this ensures a high degree of anonymity in the exchange of data and, on the other hand, creates the central prerequisite for the efficient digitalisation of administrative processes,” emphasises Kevin Seeck, DPS Partner Digitisation.
