Capital Markets

Capital Markets

The processing of capital market transactions, clearing and settlement, inventory management, disposition, payment, and booking are among our company’s core competencies.

Our experience ranges from the development of large custom applications and integration and migration projects to supporting complex outsourcing projects. We understand established processes as well as DLT-based approaches and tokenization.

Market participants are also facing further significant innovations that will shape the capital market in the future:

Fontus – Modernization of master data processes

WM Datenservice, Germany’s leading provider of financial market data, has set itself the goal of comprehensively revising its master data delivery for securities under the project name Fontus (formerly EDDy_neu). Migration preparations for external WM customers are currently scheduled to begin in Q3 2025.

Extensive project experience in data migration in the financial sector, combined with our broad capital markets expertise – these two pillars form the basis of DPS’s consulting services for market participants connected to Fontus. We are happy to support you from an initial impact analysis to the preparation and support of the migration!

T+1 settlement cycle of securities transactions

Market participants are facing significant changes that will shape the capital market in the future. This includes the foreseeable shortening of the settlement cycle for securities transactions (keyword: T+1). This change will have a significant impact on the market infrastructure and processes of banks and financial service providers in Europe.

DPS provides comprehensive advice to clients on the challenges and opportunities of this transition.

Implementation of the AbzStEntModG

The Withholding Tax Relief Modernization Act (AbzStEntModG) presents banks with complex challenges, particularly due to the new reporting requirements for capital gains tax on dividends from German shares and depository receipts of domestic issuers (MiKaDiv). These requirements require extensive adjustments to IT systems to comply with the legal requirements on time.

DPS has extensive experience in implementing such regulatory projects and supports financial institutions in analyzing the impacts, developing customized solutions, and ensuring successful implementation.
