Open Data and Data Driven Government
The European Union, the Federal Government and the Federal States (Länder) obligate all public authorities to make data generated in the course of administrative activities available in an open, machine-readable and non-discriminatory manner. However, the concept of Open Data involves more than just meeting these legal requirements. Used wisely, open data can make decisions more targeted, transparent and efficient. The prerequisite for such data-driven government is that the right data is available in the right format at the right place.
