The CESOP Compliance Service ensures timely and legally compliant implementation of the reporting requirements for payment service providers in accordance with the VAT acts.

The implementation of the Central Electronic System of Payment Information (CESOP) marks a paradigm shift in payment transactions: reporting obligations are being introduced on a transaction-by-transaction basis for the first time. From 1 January 2024, certain cross-border payments must be recorded and transmitted to the national tax authorities. The scope of application includes payment institutions such as banks, specialised banks, development banks, e-money institutions and marketplaces.

With the CESOP Compliance Service, we offer a complete solution to fulfil the new requirements – with the following features, among others:

The centrepiece of the product is a clear dashboard that intuitively displays the status of the CESOP report and the associated work steps; provides an overview of the import status, including an automatic check for duplicate processing and a correction option; enables the simple management of payees and the manual processing of legal entities; and at the same time offers the monitoring of all CESOP reports and the option to correct reports.

Insights into the CESOP Compliance Service

With the CESOP Compliance Service, DPS was one of the first providers to design a complete solution for implementing the EU directive against VAT fraud, test it together with numerous banks and payment service providers and ultimately implement it successfully.

Against the backdrop of the ongoing implementation with a first-mover customer in July 2023, Product Owner Tobias Münsterberg spoke about the details of the product launch and the challenges that banks and savings banks, specialised and development banks, as well as e-money institutions have to overcome on the way to meeting the requirements of CESOP.
