As part of the „SDIKA – Sichere Digitale Identitäten Karlsruhe“ project, DPS is responsible for the design and development of payment transaction services based on digital identities. A further milestone has now been reached here: the successful implementation of the IBAN credential in the SDI-X adapter.
This is an open-technology IBAN credential platform that is compatible with common wallets via the SDI-X adapter and enables the secure exchange of user and contracting party data without third parties being able to see it. In a further step, DPS is developing a web app that will enable users to verify the IBAN credential in the wallet at their bank and, in future, process all payments via the various SEPA schemes: from classic SEPA direct debits to instant payments and the new request-to-pay payment method.
SDIKA is one of four showcase projects on self-sovereign identities (SSI) funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. The aim of the project is to realise wide-ranging, cross-application identities in open ecosystems.
