SDIKA project launched

The “Schaufenster Sichere Digitale Identitäten Karlsruhe (SDIKA)” (Secure Digital Identities Showcase Karlsruhe) project has started. Its objective is the development of a secure digital identities ecosystem, which has a regional focus on the Karlsruhe and the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.

SDIKA is a consortium project. It is led by the City of Karlsruhe and the “Forschungszentrum Informatik (FZI)” (Research Centre for Information Technology).

It is one of the showcase projects for the development of secure digital identities in Germany and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

Within the project, DPS’ role is to design and develop payment services based on digital identities. Digital identities are a key to establishing dynamic ecosystems, both in the e-commerce and the e-government sector. For this, an essential building block is a convergence of authentication and authorisation mechanisms in the financial sector on the one hand and, on the other, the development of identity solutions.
